a thousand words
The words "Fine Art" bring something different to mind for everyone. To me fine art is about capturing the intimacy behind what it means to simply "be" for a moment in time; I want to capture the essence of a person with my camera to the best of my ability so I can show people what it feels like to see them through my eyes. Sometimes I photograph people who are unsure if they want photos taken of themselves, because they have been beat down mentally, seeing society/media setting certain standards for so long. We are all different and beautiful in our own unique way. It brings me so much joy to take a gorgeous picture of someone who does not realize their true beauty. To show the back of a camera to someone and they TEAR UP over how beautiful they feel, is a magical moment I cannot begin to describe. This type of photography means more than "being sexy" or "showing your ass" and snapping a picture. For me, capturing a person in fine art style is about showcasing the person as they are now, in this moment, and sharing vulnerability without worrying about the boundaries set in place through years of shame. It is my honor to showcase a person's beauty through my photography. A picture is truly worth a thousand words.
